To complete the next steps, you'll need to be able to readily access the top and bottom of the rug. 1. Shake or pat the rug down While almost all outdoor carpets are produced from mould and mildew-resistant fibres, this does not mean that mould and mildew cannot form, which can occur when dirt, dust, or debris accumulate. The best protection against this is to remove extra dirt and filth. If you have a smaller rug that you can easily take up, shake off any dirt or extra dust by holding one end of the rug. If your rug is huge, hang it over your balcony railing and whack it with a broomstick or similar instrument to dislodge the dirt and dust. 1. Vacuum After you've removed the larger chunks of dirt, it's time to lay the rug flat again and vacuum anything you may have missed. A vacuum may pick up even the smallest dust particles that would have been missed in previous procedures. 1. Wipe up any spills Are there any stains or heavily used spots on your carpeting that require special attention? If you have a stain, blot it with a clean towel and try to lift as much colour as possible. If the stain has already dried and solidified, use the edge of a cooking spoon or similar object to scrape away some of the hardened substance. But we recommend you clean the mess instantly to avoid further difficulties. In this regard, I think you should follow the quote below- “That’s the only thing you can do with a mess. Start cleaning it up, a little at a time”. - Lisa Wingate 1. Clean the rug Make a basic solution of water and mild detergent or dish soap. Then, pour some of the solutions over the rug and scrub with a deck brush in the same direction as the weaving. You can either concentrate on your target/spot clean areas or scrub your entire rug. After you've washed the necessary spots, rehang the rug over your balcony railing. Rinse everything with a hose until all of the soap has been removed. If you don't have a hose, pour water over the scrubbed regions with a bucket. 1. Dry Keep your rug off the ground and hang it to dry on your balcony railing or a clothesline. You must allow both sides to dry completely, as leaving it drenched in water on the ground might promote mould and mildew growth, which you do not want. If your outdoor rug is still dirty then reach out to rug cleaning Nyc. and if you want organic cleaning then rug cleaning Nyc is the good option.
