  3. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, commonly known as MBBS is a dream for every candidate who wishes to make his/her career as a doctor. This dream comes true only when candidates qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) with the minimum qualifying percentile.The process of admission in MBBS in government medical college involves a centralisedcounselling process which is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). To be eligible for the same candidates will have to secure NEET cutoff as set by the authority for each category.

ADMISSIONS OPEN FOR 2021 The scores obtained by candidates in NEET 2021 will be used for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and 85% State Quota MBBS seats in a government college. 15% of the total intake of seats from every government college will be reserved for AIQ quota. Whereas, remaining seats will be available for admission of candidates who fulfil the required eligibility criteria for 85% state quota seats.   5. MBBS Admission Quick Facts • Every year over 15 lakhs candidates appear for the NEET exam. Generally 50% of the candidates are able to crack the entrance exam. • India currently  has  a total of 562 Medical colleges and the total number of MBBS seats is 84, 649.  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% (40% for reserved category students) of marks from any recognized board with Chemistry, Physics, and Botany/Zoology as compulsory subjects in their class 12th examination. • Minimum age limit for NEET 2021 is 17 years old.  • The admission process includes a counselling session after the announcement of results. • NEET 2021 Syllabus will comprise topics of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, from class 11th and 12th. • The MBBS is an undergraduate degree programme in medical field. It takes the duration of 5.5 years for the completion of the degree. It is very tough to pursue the MBBS course. This course is now in heavy demand by the students after 12th.
