  1. CMI Isoeicosane is Often Used as a Substitute for Mineral Oil in Oil-Free Products Isoeicosane is a hydrocarbon emollient that is frequently used in "oil- free" products to replace mineral oil. It has a satiny texture and feel on skin and hair, and is frequently used in conditioners to provide shine and silkiness (Source). Isoeicosane is not soluble in water or glycerin since it is oil-free, but it is soluble in oil-based products that comprise mineral oil or plant oils.
