UPSC is a constitutional body established under the provisions of the Constitution of India. It is responsible for conducting various examinations to recruit individuals for various posts in the Indian Civil Services, Indian Forest Service, Indian Engineering Services, and other central services. The UPSC is also responsible for advising the government on matters related to personnel management, recruitment, and other related matters. The UPSC was established on 1st October 1926 as the Federal Public Service Commission. Later in 1935, it was renamed as the Union Public Service Commission after the Government of India Act 1935 was passed. The UPSC is headquartered in New Delhi and has regional offices located in various parts of the country.
