On Travel Bubble Agreement, Direct Flights Between Saudi Arabia and India Have Begun Saudi Arabia and India have entered into a new agreement that will eventually allow direct flights between the two countries, starting on 1st January 2022. Under the agreement terms, Saudi Airlines will be making connections in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam and Indian carriers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. The agreement extends the existing “Aero- India” air traffic agreement signed between the two countries in 2008. In addition to this expansion of air travel, both countries have also increased their commitments to the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) through their respective declarations of intent to ratify Kyoto Protocols. Furthermore, both countries have promised to uphold high aviation safety and security standards. The expansion of air travel between these two nations has taken place as part of a more significant trend, though it is important to note that not all countries can take advantage of these opportunities yet. Expansion of air travel The expansion of air travel between Saudi Arabia and India is essential in developing the region. This new agreement will allow for a more frequent and direct connection between these two countries. In addition to this, the air traffic agreement signed in 2008 has facilitated the development of air travel in the region. The geographical location of Saudi Arabia makes it a natural point of entry into Asia, which in turn allows for more flights connecting other regions and countries as well.
