  2. The pioneers of wine revolution in Western Australia, Capel Vale was the first one to own and establish vineyards in the cool climate regions of Margaret River, Mount Barkerand Geographe. PeterPrattenestablishedthefirstwineryontheStirlingEstateinCapelin 1979,followedbythefirstvintagemadein1980.

  3. 6 years later, Peter Pratten as a winemaker produced a Capel Vale Riesling whichwasnamedastheAustralianNationalDryWhite Champion.This momentbecamehistoricnotonlyforCapelValewinesbutalsoforRieslingin Australia. Eversincetheestablishmentofthecompanyin1974byDrPeterand Elizabeth Pratten to hand over the business to son Simon Pratten in the mid 2000’s, Capel Vale wines have consistently been one of the leading family- ownedandmanagedwineriesofAustralia.
