  2. Foot Cramps Foot cramps are the muscle cramps. This occurs either in the arch of the foot, near the toes, or on the upper part of the foot. Muscle cramps are the involuntary contractions occurring commonly during daily activities or might keep you awake at night. Foot cramps occur commonly and rarely might be a cause of concern. Similar to other muscle cramps, foot cramps might result in mild-to-intense pain until the muscle relaxes and the cramping ends. Massage or stretching exercises help the muscle to return to a relaxed state. Foot cramps result from an uncomfortable, painful spasm of the muscles in your feet. They repeatedly occur in the arches of your feet, on top of your feet, or around your toes. Cramps like these restrict you in your tracks, limiting the mobility and even freezing the muscles in a spasm until the cramp passes. Occasional foot cramps aren’t a cause for serious concern. They usually go away with light stretching and massage. But, chronic or recurring foot cramps should not be ignored and should be evaluated by your doctor.
