  1. Hi, I am Kapil Shorewala, a founder- director at Sanchi Velvets, the trade marked brand owned by Sunshine Velvet Pvt Ltd. We are an integrated and composite textile company, which makes woven velvet fabric, distinctly identified by the designs we create, the colours we fill them with and the precision with which we create the magic on the second most luxurious man made fabric, only next to silk. VELVET, as per Wikipedia, Velvet is a tufted fabric in which the cut threads are very evenly distributed, with a short dense pile, giving it a distinctly smooth feel. It is a fabric that can be made from different fibres and is woven on a special loom that weaves two pieces of velvet at the same time. Historical records show that Velvet has been traced back to as early as 14thcentury medieval Kashmir, but for a minute, forget everything and close your eyes and try to imagine; how a craftsman or rather a group of them, created something so intricate and complex, without electricity, power looms and the technology, which we as an industry enjoy today with high speed mechanisation.

About the Company: ◦ With a team of over 300 workforce employed across Mumbai and Gujrat, we specialise in made to order designs, customised B2B supplies to traders, merchant exporters who translate our hand and machine crafted fabrics into garments, home décor articles like cushions, quilts and curtains. ◦ We make plains and printed velvets, also using acids to burn the ground to create what the Europeans call Devore, also know as burnout velvets. Using a range of yarns, we create bling with metallic yarns, matt finish with cotton yarns and silklike hand feel using nylon fibres. ◦ What started 4 decades ago, as a small set up 12 weaving machines has swelled into over 200 weaving machines and a full fledged processing industry which creates magic, well mostly, by incorporating your imaginations into reality. ◦ Why would a company work with US? ◦ Our USP as we see is: • Leadership through Design- Some of our home made designs are registered with IP acts to avoid loss of interest to either of the parties involved.
