  1. INTRODUCTION OF SECCAP The system of Centralized Admission Policy (CAP) was introduced in the year 2000 by the Education Department, Government of Sindh for granting admissions in class XI in the colleges and higher secondary schools of Karachi. The policy is to streamline the process of admission and root out all sorts of irregularities as well as to provide equal opportunity to the students getting admission in the colleges and higher secondary schools of their choice on the basis of merit (marks) only. Thanks to almighty Allah, the policy has been very successful in achieving its targets to the degree of utmost satisfaction since the day it was implemented. The authorities, in 2015 renamed and reframed the policy as Sindh E- Centralized Colleges Admission Program (SECCAP), the system of online applications for admission in class XI under SECCAP was introduced. A committee has been formed headed by Director General (Colleges) Sindh Karachi to vigil the process of admissions in class XI in the colleges and higher secondary schools of Karachi region. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM To provide opportunity to the students for getting admissions in the colleges and higher secondary schools of their choice on merit basis. To eliminate outside pressures and interference during the admission process from the colleges & higher secondary schools. Almost all eligible applicants are given admissions. Teaching at colleges and higher secondary schools is not disturbed. Admissions are strictly granting on merit basis and the capacity of the colleges & higher secondary schools. A uniform schedule of studies and co-curricular activities is provided to all the institutes which they have to strictly follow. All colleges and higher secondary schools are provided with equally qualified teaching staff and facilities. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION IN CLASS XI UNDER SECCAP-2020 1. Students who have got through their SSC/Technical board/G.C.E (O’ Level) or its equivalent examination 2020 are eligible to apply. 2. Students who have passed these examinations during the last three years before 2020 are also eligible with the condition that 05 marks for every year of gap shall be deducted from their obtained marks to determine their merit.

  2. 3. The students passing the S.S.C or equivalent supplementary examination 2020 shall not be eligible for admission for the session 2020-21 under SECCAP. 4. Students who have already appeared in H.S.C part I or II examination from Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi or from any Intermediate Board in Pakistan are not allowed for re-admission in class XI. Any such admission taken on submission of false information shall be cancelled as it can be detected on the data base of Board of Intermediate Education Karachi and rejected at the time of enrolment in the board. 5. The students who have passed SSC /GCE (O’ Level) or equivalent examination in general group (humanities/arts) / commerce are not eligible for admission of any science faculty. FORMULA FOR CONVERSION OF MARKS FOR G.C.E. (O’LEVEL) It is imperative for the students passing G.C.E (O’ Level) examination have to pass the subjects of English, Urdu, Islamiat, Pakistan Studies and four optional subjects. An equivalence certificate from I.B.C.C, Islamabad is mandatory. The merit of the students passing of G.C.E (O’ Level) examination will be determined by conversion of their marks in accordance with the following formula (for admission purpose only). 1. 2. 3. Grade A* = 90 A = 85 B = 75 C = 65 D = 55 E=45 The mean value of all valid graded will be multiple by 8.5 to calculate equivalence. This is to be pointed out that only grades of the subjects that are relevant for the choices of the applicants in the intermediate will be counted. For example, “A” in French, will not be include to calculate the average of a student who has applied for admission in the faculty of science/ commerce. FORMULA FOR CONVERSION OF MARKS FOR TECHNICAL BOARD The marks of the matriculates from Technical Board shall be converted according to the under mentioned formula. Maximum marks of Technical Board students = Maximum marks of Component III of class IX & X = 300 Maximum marks for evaluation “A” = (1150-300) = 850 EVALUATION MARKS = (Marks obtained) – (Marks obtained in Component III)     1150

  3. FORMULA FOR CONVERSION OF MARKS FOR OTHER THAN KARACHI BOARD The marks of the matriculates from other Board rather than Karachi Board shall be converted according to the under mentioned formula. (Marks Obtained x 850) / Total Marks COURSES OFFERED The government colleges & higher secondary schools are affiliated to the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi for H.S.C examinations. The board follows the annual examination system. The examination for class XI & XII are held separately. The duration of course study for each class is one year. The students perusing High School Certificate have to study four compulsory and three optional subjects. The compulsory subjects in all faculties are as under: 1.Urdu Normal/ Urdu Easy/ Urdu Non-Mother Tongue/ History & Culture of Pakistan (for foreigners only) 2.English Normal/ English Advance. 3.Islamic Education for Muslims/ Ethic (Akhlaqiat)/ civics (optional) for Non- Muslims. 4.Pakistan Studies FACULTIES OFFERED A number of colleges / higher secondary schools do not offer all faculties. Some are purely science colleges; some purely commerce colleges. You should be careful in selecting your faculty and relate it to your choice of colleges/ higher secondary schools for the priority list, keeping in view the closing marks of last year’s admission in the colleges of your choice. Consult the Detailed Information about college & higher secondaryto check if the faculty of your choice exists in the college / higher secondary schools you want to be placed in. Sindhi 20 Urdu Elective 6 Home Economics HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSON UNDER SECCAP 2020 1.Visit /go to the website of College Education Department Government of Sindh i.e. https://college.sindh.gov.pk/seccap or www.seccap.net . 2.Click the button of apply online. 3.Fill all the columns of the placement form online, carefully. 4.After fill up the form, click the button of submit 5.Write down your computer generated number after submission of form. Students who have passed their matriculation or equivalent examination other than Karachi Board will attach following documents with the original placement form and submit it in the office of the Director General Colleges Sindh, Karachi / Regional Directorate College Education, Karachi situated at Govt. College for Women, Shahrah-e- Liaquat, near Urdu Bazar Karachi One photocopy of Marks Sheet G.C.E (O’ Level) students should attach one copy of all their marks sheets. The Technical Education Board students should attach copies of IX & X. Equivalence certificate is pre-requisite from IBCC Islamabad for those candidates who have passed their examination from O’ Level or examination bodies of foreign countries. You must be very careful in setting your preference of colleges/ higher secondary schools. Check the “Detailed information about colleges/ higher secondary schools” and keep in mind the instructions to avoid losing your choice. Applicant passed S.S.C Examination with Computer Science and passed from Technical Board are not eligible for admission in Pre-Medical group

Results of placement shall be announced and can be checked In daily newspapers, Concerned colleges/ higher secondary schools Website of the College Education Department, Government of Sindh www.sindhcollegeeducation.gov.pk/seccap After checking the placement results contact to the placed college / higher secondary schools and complete the process of admission within 07 days.    TRANSFER POLICY TRANSFER POLICY TRANSFER WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN CLASS XI & XII FROM ONE COLLEGE (PRIVATE OR GOVERNMENT) TO ANOTHER GOVERNMENT COLLEGE PRIVATE / EXTERNAL CANDIATES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION IN CLASS XI OR XII IN GOVERNMENT COLLEGES RULES OF DISCIPLINE An application for admission in a college and higher secondary school implies a student’s undertaking to abide by the following rules. 1.Students are not to engage in political activities in the colleges/ higher secondary schools. 2.Students must appear in terminal tests. 3.75% attendance in the class room 4.Any student who violating the rules may face cancellation of admission.
