Hence, thinking about our canine friends and their safety, we have few helpful tips for you to keep your fur baby safe and happy while they are at home, alone. PUT THINGS AWAY It is common for dogs to dig into the garbage and eat something on the counter they shouldn’t. Be mindful and make the place picked up while putting things away to prevent your dog from accidentally ingesting harmful things, objects, or foods. Be sure to have a garbage bin with a lid with a latch that your do cannot dig in/around while you are not home. Place the garbage bin in the closed cupboard with restricted access. Electrocution from chewing on electrical cords is a common injury for dogs, so be sure to cover or use a spray taste deterrent for electrical cords to prevent your dog from chewing it. Along with this, remember to keep an eye on your dog’s chewing habit as they can also shred toys, beds, or mats and ingest the pieces of fabric. It’s better to keep these things away when you are away from home. CRATE YOUR DOG To Crate Dog, it isn’t cruel or punishment for your dog. It makes dogs responsible and calms anxiety. It is the best thing to make them feel safe while you are not at home. Dogs spend almost 14 hours a day sleeping or resting. They have a natural instinct to be in a den and constructing a crate for them can become just likely to that. DOG-PROOF YOUR HOME Your home seems absolutely safe for your dog until you are around. Once you leave, there are lots of mischief your dog can get into. To prevent turning your dog’s playful time into trouble, follow these simple steps and ensure your dog‘s safety. •Keep food away, whether it is for you or for your pooch. You can store your pet food in sealed container while yours in the pantry or up in the cupboard, out of your dog’s reach. •Make sure no trash should be kept out of the lidded container or in the sink. •Put or create puppy gates to restrict the area for your dog. •Ensure you don’t have any plants toxic to dogs in home. •Medications, cleaning products or harmful chemicals should be kept away from your dog’s reach WALK OR TREAT YOUR DOG Morning walk or exercise is the best thing you can to do make your dog little tired. This will also lead them pass out more time resting or sleeping after you leave. Eventually, this will ensure your dog’s safety by reducing their chances of getting into anything that could harm them. Treating your dog with a stuffed frozen Kong filled with peanut butter will help you keep occupied your dog for at least few hours. Also, it is very helpful for dogs that have mild separation anxiety.

Some dogs prefer still water and other may like running fountain fixture to drink from, so try what’s your dog loves. Separation anxiety is the other reason that may results in dehydration in some dogs. Therefore, keeping an adequate amount of fresh water would be the best thing to do for your furry friend.
