  2. What is stalking? • Stalking refers to a constellation of behaviours involving repeated and persistent attempts to impose on another person unwanted communication and/or contact.

  3. Stalker traits • After reading an online study, it was concluded that stalkers have a range of motivations, from reasserting power over a partner who rejected them to the quest for a loving relationship. The vast majority of stalkers are lonely and always have been, as well as being socially inept or unable to behave normally in social situations, but are still able to scare or worry their victim.

  4. Methods of stalking • Stalkers use telephone calls, texts, letters, e-mail, graffiti etc. • Other methods could include vandalism on personal property or by constantly having visible or audible surveillance on the victim.

  5. results • Stalking was defined as repeated (at least 10 times) and persistent (lasting for at least 4 weeks) unwelcome attempts to approach or communicate with the victim. • It was found that out of 115 stalkers studied, 79% were mail and it was also found that 30% of the victims were ex husbands or wives.
