Mental illness Mental illness Ø Mental illness is a general term to describe various ‘Psychological abnormalities and disorders.’ Ø Mental illness is a common theme in Woolf’s novel as Mrs. Dalloway is no exception. Ø Throughout the novel, Woolf tries to show the ‘Quality of her illness’ in the form of a novel and through the life of characters such as ; qSeptimus Warren Smith (A shell shock war veteran) qClarissa Dalloway (A Politician’s Wife )
