  1. June 1, 2017 Ready for 2017? Top SEO Trends from a Local SEO Marketing Company Search engine optimization, or SEO, has long waved its keyword-stuffing days goodbye. With Google’s constant algorithm updates and greater focus on content quality, you need to keep yourself abreast of all the changes if you desire high rankings in search results. 2. since you’ve looked at your SEO strategy, here are some search trends in 2017 worthy of your consideration. Expect to see more accelerated mobile pages If you’ve been browsing Google lately, you’ve probably noticed some articles with a bolt icon. This means that the page uses accelerated mobile pages (AMP), which is basically Google’s answer to Facebook’s instant articles. In a nutshell, AMP allows your article to load up to four times faster while consuming about eight times less data than normal pages. As a Google product, you can bet that the search engine giant is throwing its full weight behind AMP. Indeed, it has already begun favoring sites that use this platform by giving them extra visibility on search engine results. According to Google, 37% of all news articles now include an AMP version, which just goes to show how quickly it has been adopted by content publishers. Comprehensive content wins As you may have heard, SEO is no longer solely about ensuring that your content contains the appropriate keywords—it’s about making sure that the content will be actually useful to readers. Currently, much of the content that you see are bite-sized blurbs presenting an overview of a certain topic, a primer if you will. These days, however, it seems that Google is favoring longer, denser content that offers in-depth discussion on a given matter. This is because the more comprehensive the article you provide, the more knowledge you can impart to readers, and the more authoritative you will appear to Google—a factor that surely affects your search engine rankings. 3. It’s a world gone mobile The year 2015 proved to be a landmark year for many search engine optimizers: it was the year when mobile searches finally superseded desktop searches. Of course, you probably already assumed this because you are probably reading this on a smartphone during your commute to or from work. That just goes to show that when it comes to SEO, your website needs to be searchable and usable, especially on smaller screens. Google recommends making your site versatile enough to automatically adjust its content to any size screen. This also means double-checking your site’s user experience design to avoid high bounce rates, which Google views as a red flag. Much like the marketing landscape, search engine optimization is an ever-evolving beast. What was once a good strategy may quickly be replaced by another yet better method. By keeping abreast with developments in the field, you can continue to maximize website traffic. About Aggie Marketing: Aggie Marketing is a local SEO marketing company based in Lilburn, GA.
