ABOUT UNIVERSITY The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani is a Public-Private institute started in a joint venture between the Government and industrial partners such as Coal India and Rolta. The institute offers full-time and part-time education through bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees in the field of engineering. HISTORY IIIT, Kalyani got established in 2014 under the mentorship of IIEST Shibpur. The institute was set up in a public-private partnership between the Ministry Development, State Government of West Bengal, Government of India, and industry partners Coal India and Rolta. However, the institute initially operated on its temporary campus at the JIS College of Engineering. In March 2017, the University finally got the status as the Institute of National Importance. In 2017, IIT Kharagpur got the mentorship of this institute. Moreover, the institute is currently operating at Webel IT Park. of Human Resource
INFRASTRUCTURE Library: The University also imparts education to its students through its Library. The IIIT, Kalyani has a library with more than 2400 books from all times to all subjects such as engineering, animation, commerce, chemistry, and so on. These books provide the students with additional information to complete their assignments, projects, research work, and also good secure marks in exams. Additionally, the Library provides a good learning environment for students of all age groups and courses to come together to enhance their knowledge. Hostel: The Indian Information Technology, Kalyani, provides accommodation facilities to its students through its hostel. The institute has two hostels, among which one is for boys, and the other is for girls. The hostel is located inside the campus and offers its students either a single room or a shared room. Each hostel room is provided with all the basic facilities such as bed, closet, mirror, bathroom and so on. In addition to that, each hostel has a warden to look after the students and ensure their safety. The warden also keeps track of the discipline and the things going on within the hostel.

Shuttle Service: The University provides many facilities to its students to ease their problems and ensure their comfort. One way in which IIIT, Kalyani does that is by providing shuttle services to all its students and teachers. Due to this facility provided by the University, transportation becomes easier for all the students and faculty. Also, due to this service offered by the University, it becomes easier for students living far off to come to the college and gain maximum knowledge. Medical Facilities: No matter how much we try, injuries and accidents can happen to anyone at any point of time in their life. However, any institution must have facilities and equipment to deal with such situations. Keeping this view in mind, IIIT, Kalyani provides its students with medical facilities on its campus. This is very helpful in times of need or in case of an emergency. This also saves the time and cost of students to go visit a doctor or hospital.
COURSES Bachelors in Technology (B.Tech): The institute offers a full-time four-year Bachelors in Technology course to its students. This is a full-time course in the field of engineering. The admission to this course is made based on the scores of JEE Main. Additionally, the institute offers its students a total of 118 seats in the college with around eight lakhs as the fees of the course. Moreover, this course offers specialization in Computer Science and Engineering for its students. Masters in Technology (M.Tech); The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani, offers a master's degree to its students in the field of engineering. This is a three years course that offers specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. However, this is a part-time course that is conducted online.
