  5. HISTORY The Government of India, Gujarat, Harvard Business School supported the establishment of IIM Ahmedabad. Additionally, Businessman Kasturbhai Lalbhai and physicist Vikram Sarabhai also played a major role to set up the institution.   7. INFRASTRUCTURE Library The library of IIM Ahmedabad is named after its founder, Vikram Sarabhai. This library has more than 190000 books and 20000 journals. It was established in 1962 and is located in the Louis Kahn Plaza. Additionally, it also provides databases related to industry, scholarly and company information. The library received The Award of Distinction at the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award 2019. Additionally, after collaborating with the Tata Consultancy Services, IIM Ahmedabad restored the library for more digital learning. The campus also has a music room, convention centers, International Management Development Center, seminar, and conference rooms as well.
