5. HISTORY Initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, IIM Jammu comes out to be the 20th Indian Institute of Management. Furthermore, on 13 October 2016, it was initiated through the approval of the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian Institute of Management further reflects new ideas, talent, enthusiasm for success, and benefaction in management. 6. INFRASTRUCTURE Campus Currently, IIM Jammu is focusing on constructing its own first permanent campus. It will spread across 200 acres of land in Jagti. Further, an Off-Campus Centre at Srinagar is setting up by IIM, Jammu. Computer Centre With an advanced and fast computer network, IIM Jammu Computer Centre includes 500 devices. At present, the institute offers a speed of about 40Mbps to 1 GBps Internet that is a leased line connectivity. The Hostels, Library, Classrooms, Faculty Blocks, LAB, Administrative Block, and Sports area get access to connected through wired and Wi-Fi connectivity. L2 and L3 switches connect all the available blocks in the institute. This further provides reliable connectivity at the user end.
