3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY IIM Ranchi was established in 2010 in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was part of the 11th five-year plan proposed by the National Development Council. Also, It is an institute of national importance. The University offers master's, Ph.D., executive, and certificate programs in various fields such as marketing, finance, human resource, and so on. The main motto of this University is Bahumukhvikaso gantavya which means working to bring change not only for one’s self but also for the community.

5. HISTORY In December 2011, the proposal to launch six new IIMs was given in the 11th Five-Year plan by the National Development Council. However, this proposal got accepted on 27 August 2009 by the Union Cabinet and that led to the formation of this institution. On 15 December 2009 the IIM Ranchi was established. However, the classes commenced on 6 July 2010. IIM, Ranchi is an autonomous institution under the Government of India and the Ministry of Human Resources Development. Moreover, the institute is free to make its own decisions and design its curriculum.

7. INFRASTRUCTURE Library The library in the IIM Ranchi is called the “Athanaeum” which means the learning resource center. The library has a huge collection of books, journals, databases, and so on. Additionally, CDs/DVDs, e-journals, and e-books are also available in various subjects such as management, marketing, human resource, commerce, and so on. The students can check the availability of books from their computers. Hostel The institute has separate hostels for both girls and boys. However, the hostel isn’t available on the campus. It has recently shifted to Khelgoan which is on the outskirt of Ranchi. The accommodation consists of three and four-bedroom shared flats. Moreover, the students are provided with a five-star facility with a fully furnished and serviced room. Additionally, the hostel also provides its students with a mess and canteen which is open for nearly 20 hours a day.

8. INFRASTRUCTURE A/C Classrooms The IIM Ranchi provides top-class facilities to its students. In addition to that, it also provides its students with a luxurious classroom by providing them with A/C classrooms. This proves to be a comfortable and great learning environment for the kids and helps to focus on their education. Moreover, having such five-star facilities helps IIM, Ranchi to stand out and create a good competitive position in the market. Gym Not only does the IIM Ranchi provide good education and learning but it also provides extra-curricular activities to its students such as the gym. Having a gym on campus helps students to maintain their fitness and stay healthy. Due to this, students don’t have to travel far off in search of another gym. However, the gym is not open for the whole day and the students have to follow the timing given.

9. INFRASTRUCTURE Shuttle Service IIM Ranchi provides shuttle services to all its students and teachers. Due to this pick up and drop facility provided by the University transportation becomes easier for all the students and faculty. Also, due to this service offered by the University, it becomes easier for students living far off to come to the college and gain maximum knowledge. Cafeteria Any University needs to provide good quality fresh food to its students so that the students don’t have to travel much for food and it becomes convenient for them to eat according to their convenience. Following this ideology, IIM, Ranchi has a cafeteria with various cuisines and food choices for all its students and teachers. This cafeteria is open for the whole day with a special cook to cater to students of all needs.

10. COURSES OFFERED Master of Business Administration (MBA) IIM Ranchi offers a full-time master in business administration course to its students. This course is normally for 2 years. Additionally, the University offers specialization to students in various fields such as human resources, finance, operations, sales and marketing, and IT and systems. Post-Graduation Diploma in Management (PGDM) IIM, Ranchi offers its students with various business and management courses to enhance their knowledge and learning through its post-graduate diploma provides this course for two years.
