3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Palakkad started functioning in August 2015 in Palakkad, Kerala. The University offers full- time education with a total of 10 courses and 57 seats. Also, the institute provides bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees in engineering and science. Additionally, the University is currently functioning on a temporary campus while its permanent campus of 500 acres is under construction. The main aim of this institute is to impart education and create its students into global leaders who bring about a positive change in society.

5. HISTORY Due to the establishment of five IIT's all over India, the demand for this institution grew. As a result, a proposal for making an IIT in Kerala was kept in the July 2014 budget. In November 2014, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development designated IIT Madras as the mentor institute for this University. The institute initially functioned from a temporary campus of Ahalia, Palakkad. However, since 2015 500 acres of land is selected for the permanent campus, and the construction is going on. The classes started on 3 August 2015.

6. INFRASTRUCTURE Hostel Indian accommodation for both girls and boys on its campus. Students are provided with spacious rooms with all the basic facilities such as beds, fan desk, closet, and so on. Each student is given a shared room with an attached toilet. In addition to that, the hostel provides a dining hall with mess facilities. Moreover, the students are also provided with Wi-Fi as well as recreation facilities such as television, magazines, and newspapers. Also, the hostel has sports facilities such as table tennis, a volleyball court and so on. 7. INFRASTRUCTURE Sports Complex Sports play a very important role in maintaining the fitness and overall development of the student. Keeping this view in mind the Indian Institute of Management, Palakkad, provides various sports facilities to its students such as a football ground, cricket ground, and basketball court. Additionally, the University also provides its students with a volleyball court and boxing area. Moreover, the students are presented with numerous sports opportunities, such as taking part in intercollege and interdepartmental events and competitions. Labs Classrooms and lectures only provide children with technical and theoretical learning.
