  2. What is Immunology ? Immunology is the study of the immune system and is a very important branch of the medical and biological sciences. The immune system protects us from infection through various lines of defence. If the immune system is not functioning as it should, it can result in disease, such as autoimmunity, allergy and cancer.

  3. Scope of Immunology Immunology is a diverse and growing discipline that can be defined as the study of the tissues, cells and molecules involved in host defence mechanisms. Immunologists attempt to understand how the immune system develops, how the body defends itself against disease, and what happens when it all goes wrong.

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PRODUCTS Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease in which the body immune system “ which normally protects its health by attacking foreign substances like bacteria and viruses“ mistakenly attacks the joints. This creates inflammation that causes the tissue that lines the inside of joints (the synovium) to thicken, resulting in swelling and pain in and around the joints. The synovium makes a fluid that lubricates joints and helps them move smoothly.

  6. XELJANZ(TOFACITINIB) XELJANZ(tofacitinib) is a medication used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and ulcerative colitis. XELJANZ is used to treat adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis in which methotrexate did not work well. Available as (Form & Strength): Tablets: 5 mg Tablets

  7. ORENCIA (ABATACEPT) TABLET ORENCIA (ABATACEPT) TABLETSIt is an immunesuppressant, a drug that suppresses the immune system that is similar to alefacept (Amevive) and belatacept (Nulojix). ORENCIA (Abatacept) is an injectable, synthetic (man-made) protein produced by recombinant DNA technology that is used for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Available as (Form & Strength): Tablets: 250 mg Powder for Infusion.
