  1. Why is Scaffolding a Necessity in Construction Sites ?

  2. INTRODUCTION Before dealing with the question of “why”, let us first venture into a general wondering of “What is scaffolding?”. Whenever a construction site is mentioned, we often develop a mental image of a partially-constructed building surrounded by tall, metal or wooden or steel structures through which the workers are seen passing through. These temporarily built platforms used to support the workforce in construction, maintenance and repairing sites are known as scaffolding. It is a very vital part of any construction project, which is often installed before the beginning of all works.

  3. Here are some of the reasons that explain why scaffolding is a necessary at construction sites: • It ensures safety of the workforce As everyone knows, construction sites or any building works involve a large number of laborers working at heights. Such a scenario must ensure the safety of workers by all means. Scaffolding with its flat surface and barriers such as fencing and netting, protects their workers from falling down from heights.

  4. . • It enables easy access It is rather difficult to work, when the laborers get limited access to the working area. A scaffolding is a fully interconnected tall structure that goes all around the building offering easy access to each and every part of the site. It also saves a lot of path and time for the workers as they can simply pass through the scaffolding without taking the high road. This unhindered bridge access is a real boon enabling workers to perform faster and easier. • It offers perfect balance For a varying degree of works like plastering, painting etc. workers need to stay well-balanced in rising heights.

  5. Firmless structures like a ladder or so, is a poor choice as it may lead to accidents. Whatever be the position of work; walls, ceiling, outdoors, windows etc. a scaffolding with its flat surface offers a firm grip much needed for a balanced and comfortable workspace. • It ensures better efficiency of workers With strategic scaffolding, workers get an excellent platform that enables them to work anywhere on the site, at any comfortable position with balance and full safety. Thus, they are all set and peaceful for completing their respective duties and responsibilities as soon as possible, raising the efficiency and productivity of the project.

  6. CONCLUSION Scaffolding is usually built with wooden planks or metal poles or steel for better efficiency. Metal and steel scaffolding have longer lives than wooden ones, thus are the most preferred ones nowadays. The best scaffolding services companies in Saudi Arabiaoffer best scaffoldings for all construction needs and requisites securing large numbers of workforce by all means.
