What is a pet scan

PET scans have an essential role to play in the follow up for patients who have been diagnosed with lymphoma. It uses what is known as the "positron emitter fluorine-18". The most significant advantage of a PET scan is that it can identify several sites to which the disease may have spread in the body. PET scan can be used to determine potential conditions and problems and can diagnose myeloma, lymphoma, and tumors. A PET scan gives you a complete picture of the health condition of your body and tells you exactly what is wrong and where. To know more, click here.<br>https://www.andersondiagnostics.com

  6. In the treatment of lymphomas, the PET scan has been highly useful as it is helps to detect it and its use is well known.

  7. PET scans have been extremely useful in the diagnosis and treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma and large cell and aggressive lymphoma.

  8. The PET scan has been able to replace gallium scans because of the increased convenience and ease of use and sensitivity.

  9. Completely remission is seen when there is a negative PET scan at the end of a treatment for cancer, even if there are some relapses.

  10. The PET scan is highly useful during a situation when there is no external sign of the disease, and though some still prefer to irradiate bulky masses.
