  8. Placement Test English Placement Test (EPT) As intimidating as an ESL test may seem, they are an essential first step towards determining the standing level of potential students. Our process begins with an English Placement Test which has been developed specifically by Jakarta English Training specialists. It has been designed to assess the comprehensive level of understanding of English within the following areas; listening, reading, writing and correct use of grammar. The EPT should be completed by all non-native English speakers prior to enrollment in a JET course in order determine the potential students’ present level of English. The test taker will hear a recorded conversation and then have to use the information to best answer the accompanying questions. This process is then repeated with a different recording and set of questions (Listening II). The third section targets the test takers ability to use and recognize correct grammatical structure (Structure III) through a series of multiple choice questions.
