  2. The Traditional TMC is Dead?

  3. Online v TMC • Business travel itineraries booked on public Internet sites (such as Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, and the airlines’ direct sites), have been found to average US$75 more per itinerary than those booked by a corporate travel agency • Since 2001agency fares were equal to or lower than those offered online sites in over 91% of itineraries. Topaz International

  4. Why? • Web fares increasing • LCC sites confusing • Hidden Charges • TMC fees are low

  5. Connecting to the Future of Travel • The challenge for all TMCs is connecting your travellers with their choice of supplier inventory • Previously, a GDS connection offered the most technologically advanced method of accessing flight, car rental, rail and hotel inventory • Travel purchasing has changed significantly

  6. Asia is very Complex

  7. China OTA’s – Success Story • Still small – 1% compared to 30% in the USA • Ctrip.com, accounting for 54.2% of the market last and eLong.com, with 17.8% • Starting to penetrate TMC market • Still very labour-intensive • Traditional payment methods favored due to high cost of merchant fees

  8. How do we handle this increasingly complex environment?

  9. HRG Universal Super Platform: Connecting to Supplier Systems

  10. Our commitment FUTURE Today, Tomorrow, Next Week
