Earlier, JEE Main was known as AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam).  JEE Main Admit Card 2023 NTA (National Testing Agency) conducts JEE Main across the country. By passing  JEE Mains Syllabus 2023 the exam, students can gain admission to prestigious institutions such as NITs  JEE Main Cuto? 2023 (National Institute of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), IISc (Indian Institute of Science), GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutions),  JEE Main Exam Date 2023 and so on. Students get into colleges based on their marks and rank obtained from  JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023 JEE Main. JEE Main Session 1 Admit Card For 2023 Out NTA conducts it twice a year, usually in January and April. Students must qualify for  JEE Advanced after qualifying for JEE Main to be admitted to IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), one of the nation's premier colleges. The top 2,50,000 students from the JEE Main merit list are qualified to appear in the JEE Advanced examination. JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria Like every other exam, JEE Main has some terms and conditions that every student should fulfill to be eligible to appear in the exam. Students should double-check all eligibility criteria ahead of time to avoid rejections or problems during the exam or admission process. NTA issues some criteria which must be abided by and fulfilled for students to write the JEE Main 2023 exam are listed below; ?. Nationality of the applicant The applicant must be an Indian citizen. Other foreign nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and so on, can also apply. ?. Age limit There is no age limit to appear in the exam. However, students should check the age requirements of the institutions wherein they wish to enroll. ?. Educational Qualification The applicant must have passed the Class 12 examination or any other equivalent exam from any recognized board/ university. Equivalent examinations such as the Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination, two-year pre-university exam, Joint services wing of the NDA, Intermediate or two-year pre-university exam, High School Certificate Examination of Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate O?ce, Geneva, etc. JEE Main eligibility marks in 12th is not defined by NTA. That is, there is no minimum score required to take the JEE Main 2023 exam. However, the students must have a minimum of 5 subjects (language, physics, mathematics, chemistry/ biology/ biotechnology/ or any other subject) and physics and mathematics as the mandatory subjects. JEE Main 2023 for Diploma holders Applicants having diploma certificates can also appear for the JEE Main 2023 examination. But during admission to NITs or CFTIs, the rank and scorecards of the diploma are not considered. ?. JEE Mains attempts 2023 The applicant has three consecutive attempts to write the JEE Main 2023 exam. The first attempt is considered soon after Class 12 and the other two attempts are given in consecutive years by the student. Since JEE Main is conducted twice a year, an applicant has the chance to take the JEE Main paper six times. ?. IIT Qualification There is no such separate eligibility criteria to get into IITs. Students have to first clear JEE Mains, then JEE Advanced to get enrolled in IITs. However, the candidate should have passed 12th examination or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board. The IIT age limit for Gen, OBC and DS category is 25 years. Whereas the IIT age limit for SC, ST and PD categories is 30 years. ?. 75 percent criteria in JEE Mains 2023 As per this criteria, students of Gen/OBC category must have 75% (aggregate) in their Class 12 or equivalent exam to be eligible to take the exam. And in the case of SC/ST, students are required to have 65% (aggregate) to take the JEE Mains exam. However, this criterion was removed last year by the ministry of education for JEE Mains 2022, as because of Covid-19 school studies have been a?ected. But, for JEE Mains 2023, no such announcement has been released, neither by NTA nor by the ministry of education. Frequently asked questions (FAQs) Q1. What is the upper age limit for JEE Main 2023? Ans. NTA (National Testing Agency), the conducting body of JEE Main 2023 has given no age limit for JEE Main 2023. Q2. Are diploma students eligible for JEE Main 2023? Ans. Yes, diploma students are eligible for JEE Main 2023. However, their rank and scorecard will not be taken into consideration when admission into NITs, IIITs, etc. Q3. What are the exam dates for JEE Main 2023? Ans. The exam dates for JEE Mains 2023: Session 1 are 24th, 25th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st January 2023, and Session 2 are 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th April 2023 Q4. Is it compulsory for students to appear in both sessions for JEE Main 2023? Ans. It is not compulsory to attend both sessions of the exam. However, if a student participates in both sessions, the results or merit list will be based on the candidate's best performance on the JEE Main exam. Q5. What should be the passing year of the Class 12th/ equivalent exam to appear in JEE Mains 2023 exam? Ans. Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12th/ equivalent exam in 2021, and 2022 or those who are appearing Class 12th/ equivalent exam in 2023, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2023. Q6. Is a student who passed Class 12th/equivalent in 2020, eligible for JEE Mains 2023? Ans. No. Candidates who passed the Class 12th/ equivalent exam in 2020 or before are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2023. Q7. How many attempts for JEE Main 2023? Ans. JEE Mains 2023 will be conducted twice in the months of January and April. Also students can appear in the JEE Mains 2023 exam for three consecutive years, the first attempt being the year of passing Class 12th/ equivalent.
