Swift Machine treatments available in Amersham. If you have verrucas or warts that do not seem to be going away, discuss the issue with a pharmacist. They will take your medical history of warts. Almost always, a physical examination will be enough to make a diagnosis of warts. Treatment: As previously mentioned, warts and verrucas almost always go away by themselves, and therefore, the best option is to let them be, especially in the case of children. With children and verrucas, treatment can be lengthy, painful, and have side-effects. However, if your warts are appearing unsightly or are showing no signs of going away, you might want to consider one of the several treatment options available. The most common treatment options for verrucas and warts are cryotherapy (freezing), and salicylic acid. 5. For Appointments 0800 107 3290 / 01494 434 366 Medicines Medicines There are numerous medicated plasters, gels, and creams available at pharmacies, that can help in the treatment of verrucas. These medicines contain an ingredient, known as ‘salicylic acid’. Verrucas and warts are common. There are different types of treatments available for getting rid of verrucas. Swift Machine treatments available in Amersham. This chemical assists in softening the rough exterior layer of warts and verrucas. However, you should not use this chemical on your face, or large regions, since it might cause scarring or irritation. It is important to always stick by the instructions that are provided with the treatment approach. Ensure that you only get as little of the treatment product as possible on the regions surrounding the wart, as that product might end up irritating the healthy, normal skin. You can apply soft paraffin or petroleum jelly to protect the skin area around the verruca or wart. Before you apply the treatment, make sure to soak the verruca or wart in water and rub it using a pumice stone or emery board, as this will soften your ward and eliminate any additional rough skin. Once the cream or gel has dried up, you can cover it with a plaster. You will probably need to perform this treatment daily, for around three months. 6. For Appointments 0800 107 3290 / 01494 434 366 Cryotherapy Conclusion Regardless, if you do need treatment for your warts and verrucas, discuss the effectiveness, as well as the pros and cons carefully with your GP before you walk down a treatment route. You can find several centres for Verruca Treatment Beaconsfield has to offer. Cryotherapy is another method used for getting rid of verrucas. Through this process, you freeze your wart through liquid nitrogen. You can purchase cryotherapy preparations, over- the-counter, but they won’t be as effective as they cannot be frozen to temperatures as low as liquified nitrogen. During cryotherapy, the doctor will apply liquid nitrogen on the wart or verruca, through either a cotton bud or a spray. Depending upon the technique employed, and the location and the size of the wart, it will take somewhere between five to thirty seconds to freeze it completely. This process might have to be repeated every couple of weeks or so, for around six times. It sometimes causes blisters or scars on the skin and is not recommended for young children because it is often painful. If the treatment methods do not help, the doctor might consider surgically removing the wart or verruca. This removal is performed with the use of an instrument known as a ‘curette’. A second option is that of laser therapy, that works by the destruction of the wart, along with its supplier blood vessels. Another recent method is that of Swift machine treatment, which has shown promising results.
