    5. 5 Assessment Recommendations Strengthen the TRCC. Provide data clearinghouse and analytical resources for users. Correct barriers to full crash reporting. Encourage electronic citation issuance and electronic crash reporting. Location coding: expand GIS and GPS use. Implement EMS run report database. Link components of traffic records systems. Provide crash reporting training. 2007:39% all police, 57% F&I police 2008: 42% all police Citizen reports show minimal error information: rt turn, passing, weather/light conditions)2007:39% all police, 57% F&I police 2008: 42% all police Citizen reports show minimal error information: rt turn, passing, weather/light conditions)

    21. 21 Crash Data Challenges Lack of accuracy for: Crash locations Crash types Behavioral issues Lack of resources: GPS units Laptops / PDAs More information on the back of the police crash report – i.e., driver factors & actions – cell phone use? Use Google maps? Right click on the map, What’s here and the lat/long will appear. It’s not just for insurance verification – information obtained from crash reports is crucial to improve safety Officer vs citizen fieldsMore information on the back of the police crash report – i.e., driver factors & actions – cell phone use?
