  1. Troubleshooting Your Nebulizer: Common Problems and Solutions If you are someone who suffers from respiratory issues and you use a nebulizer, you will understand the importance of the inhaler machine. As such, if your nebulizer is not functioning properly, it can lead to serious repercussions for your health. For this reason, it is essential to troubleshoot your Nebulizer and ensure that there are no issues with the apparatus. Like all machines, a nebulizer can also malfunction from time to time, especially after consistent and long-term use. Some of the common problems that you might face when using a nebulizer and their respective solutions are as follows: Problem #1: Treatment time/ Usage takes much longer than it did initially Solution: After long-term use, you might start to find that each use of your nebulizer takes longer than the usual time it took when you initially started to use it. This can be a result of an obstruction that has accumulated over time or there might be an issue with the filer in the nebulizer mask. You can- •Check the tubing of the nebuliser and/or the inlet of the mouthpiece for any obstructions, removing anything that may have jammed the tubing, making the mist take longer in reaching the mouthpiece. •Check and clean the air filter of the air inlet of the nebulizer. After multiple uses, the filter can get clogged with dust which can obstruct the flow of air, making the nebulizer take longer to administer the medication. Problem #2: The Nebulizer is not operating as it should or at all. Solution: A common problem that is faced by many is the nebulizer not turning on in the first place. If you seem to face such an issue, then- •Check and see if the plug of the nebulizer is properly inserted into an outlet that is grounded. A loose connection is often the cause of nebulizers not working. •Make sure to check if the power source itself is active by plugging in a light or anything indicative of whether the power source is dead or active. Problem #3: Insufficient pressure is coming through the tubes. Solution: This can be due to a variety of reasons. If there is limited pressure being pumped through the tubing of the nebulizer mask, then- •Check the tubing for leaks and loose connections. If you find any, make sure to tighten and fasten them. The best way to do this is to dismantle the nebulizer kit and reassemble it. •Clear the tubing and filters of all obstructions by thoroughly cleaning the inhaler machine and if necessary, changing the air filter altogether. Problem #4: Medicine does not turn into mist.

  2. Solution: In some cases, you might find that despite to compressor functioning, the medicine still does not turn into a mist. In such cases- •The tubing may not be properly attached or the nebulizer may not have been properly assembled as per instructions. •Ensure that all parts of the nebulizer kit are accounted for and no part has been missed when assembling. •Clean any debris in the filters and the tubing from the compressor to the nebulizer cup. These are some of the most common problems that you may face when using your nebulizer. If none of the provided solutions seems to fix your problem, then you can call on the number that is provided in the manual for the nebulizer. This will connect you with the sellers of the kit and can advise you no whether your Nebulizer Kit can be repaired or would replacing it be the better option.
