  1. INITIATIVES IN SCHOOL EDUCATION

  2. What is samagra shiksha? The Union Budget, 2018-19, has proposed to treat school education holistically without segmentation from pre-nursery to Class 12. Samagra Shiksha - an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12 has been, therefore, prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes.

  3. It subsumes the three schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE). The scheme envisages the ‘school’ as a continuum from pre-school, primary, upper primary, secondary to Senior Secondary levels.

  4. VISION The vision of the Scheme is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education from pre-school to senior secondary stage in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for Education.

OBJECTIVES provision of quality education and enhancing learning outcomes of students; Bridging Social and Gender Gaps in School Education Ensuring equity and inclusion at all levels of school education Promoting Vocationalisation of education; Support States in implementation of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009

  6. KEY FOCUS Improving Two T`s - Teacher and Technology in Education Enhancing learning outcomes at all levels. Aid in promoting universal access to childrento complete school education Effective convergence through interventions such as a unified training calendar , innovations in pedagogy , mentoring and monitoring ,etc

(SARVA SHIKSHAABHIYAAN)SSA It is a flagship programme of the government of India, that was started in 2001, to achieve the Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE) The legal backing to SSA was provided when free and compulsory education for the children in the age group of 6-14 was made a fundamental right in the Indian Constitution under Article 21 A SSA aims to provide educational infrastructure to around 193 million children in 1.1 million habitations.

OBJECTIVES OF SSA To open new schools in those habitations where there are no schooling facilities To strengthen the existing school infrastructure To add additional classrooms, toilets, drinking water facilities in the schools To provide free textbooks, uniforms to the children SSA also seeks to bridge the digital divide by offering computer education to children.

NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 The Union Cabinet approved the National Education Policy (NEP) in July 2020 This policy will usher in sweeping changes to the education policy of the country, including a renaming of the Ministry of Human Resource Development as the Education Ministry. Its aims at making “India a global knowledge superpower”.

  15. CONCLUSION The Education Intiatives is a program aimed at the learning and success of all youth. All programs emphasize the strengths of young people and the belief that Education provides opportunities for the young people and their families.
