  1. Why Body Fat Percentage Matters More Than Scale Weight When you have decided to focus on your health and get into shape, the first thing that comes to mind is to lose weight. For this reason, for many the metric of health is determined by the amount of weight that is lost. The metric for progress is then measured through a scale weight, which measures the overall weight of the object that is placed on it. However, simply using a weight scale is not the most efficient means of determining health and progress when it comes to fitness. What is most essential is the percentage of body fat that you have in your body. Every individual has a unique body type. Each body has its ratio of muscle to fat and this ratio changes over time with age and choice of lifestyle. When using a scale weigh, the weight that is displayed is of your entire body and not just the amount of fat. So, after a period of exercise, when you weigh yourself and see a decrease, you cannot be certain if what you have lost in weight is fat or if it includes muscle mass. It is here where the superiority of a Body Composition Monitor or a body fat analyser machine comes in. When striving to be in shape and healthy, want you want to lose body fat and what you should aim to gain is muscle mass. For this, you need to know what is the percentage of fat that is in your body and where it is located. When considering overall health, body composition is a much more accurate means of estimating your health. Often, when following an effective diet and regular regime may result in your experiencing that despite your efforts, you find that your weight has not changed when using a weight scale. However, when checking your progress through a bodyfat measurement machine, you can better know the fat-to-muscle ratio and accordingly make changes to your diet and exercise to get the most out of them. By building muscle and burning fat you will be able to have better body composition and get the ideal physique that you want, which is ideal for your age and weight. Using body fat percentage is a much more effective metric of progress than scale weight and can greatly help in Improving the overall quality of your life. Many physicians and doctors also prefer to use a body composition monitor as a means of assessing your physical condition rather than simply basing it on the reading of a weight scale. Unless it is visually obvious that there is an excess of fat in comparison to the amount of muscle in the body, it is better to use a Body Composition Analyzer than a weight scale to measure and adjust your health and fitness journey.
