  2. Symbols. The flag of Australia. National hymn is «Move beautiful Australia» The symbol of Australia. Geographical position Australia's 7686850 square kilometers landmass is on the Indo- Australian Plate. Surrounded by the Indian, Southern and Pacific oceans. Australia is separated from Asia by the Arafura and Timor seas.

  3. The famous places. Parliament House in Canberra was opened in 1988 replacing the provisional Parliament House building opened in 1927. Port Arthur, Tasmaniawas Australia‘s largest penal colony. The Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne was the first building in Australia to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

In the national park Yluru the most big monolith in the world (348 metres high and 4,5 kilometers wide). “The big barrier's reef (the length is 2010 kilometers). The national park KAKADOO. The national sea's museum. The art gallery in the New South Wales. In the Queekseland is the famous herbarium and the museum of the Queen Victoria. The Royal Botanical gardens in the Melburn.

  5. Koala The word koala means "no drink“. It is so, because koalas hardly ever go down to the ground for water. Their main food is the eucalypt leaves. . Eucalyptus leaves contain 50% water and 5% sugars and starches.  This is a low energy diet therefore they conserve their energy by sleeping about 19 hours a day, which makes them appear intoxicated. Koalas are fussy eaters. They eat 50 species of the 600 species of eucalyptus trees in Australia.  The belief that the koala is drunk on these leaves is actually a myth. Number of young: 1. Distribution: Eastern Australia. Habitat: Eucalypt forest and woodland. Description: Koalas have grey and white fur. Their feet are adapted for tree-climbing with thumbs on all four feet and sharp claws.

  6. Kangaroos. Dingo. The Dingo evolved from the wolf 6,000 years ago and was introduced into Australia by Asian seafarers 3,500 to 4,000 years ago. Three to four pups are usually born in winter. The dingo breeds only once a year.  Pure dingoes are becoming rare in some areas due to interbreeding with domestic dogs. They have powerful legs that act like springs, big feet to help them run and a long tail to help them balance. The larger kangaroo species can jump up to 3m high and 9m long. They can run as fast as 70 km/h.

  7. Eat of Australian people. Traditional Australian eat is the England eat. They like to eat meat of : pig, rabbit, lamb, kangaroos, crocodile. Australian people like to eat fish : oysters, crabs and others sea's products. They eat them with sauce and rice. The national food is barracuda and trout. They eat a lot of vegetables. Australian people eat a lot of fruits and barriers : blackberry, mango and citrus plants. Australia is famous for its beautiful wines. There are many vineyards in the south- west of Australia. In Australia many sunny days, so here produce very good white wines.

Holidays. • 1 January – New Year. • 25 or 26 of December – Christmas. • The 2nd Monday of June – Queens birthday. • The last Monday of January – The day of Australia. • The 1st Monday of October – The day of the work. • The end of January – tennis tournament “Australian open”. • February- March in Melbourne – the Formula One Australian Grand Prix. • In spring in Melbourne – the Festival of Eat and Wine, international Festival of flour, Festival of chocolate. In these days Australian people prepare World's Longest Lunch. • Every year in Sidney – Royal Easter Show. It is the Exhibition of animals and agricultural implements.

  9. Football. 23.5% Australians over the age of 15 regularly participate in organised sporting activities. At an international level, Australia has particularly strong teams in cricket, hockey, valleyball, rugby league, rugby union, and performs well in cycling, rowing and swimming. Australia has also hosted the 1938, 1962, 1982 and 2006 Commonwealth Games. Australian rulers football was developed in Victoria in the late 1850s and is played at amateur and professional levels. It is the most popular spectator sport in Australia, in terms of annual attendances and club memberships.
