  1. YOUR NEW DRIVEWAY: SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER

  2. Your driveway is actually one of the most important features of our home because not only does it give access to your garage and/or give you somewhere to park off the street if you don’t have one, but it is also the very first thing that visitors to your home will see. As the old saying goes, you only have one chance to make a great first impression, and this is just one reason why your driveway must look great. Incidentally, it is also the first thing that you will see every time you arrive home! Looking great is one thing, but another is being functional. You can have your driveways in Kent made from many different materials, but some are longer lasting than others, and need less maintenance. There are other things to take into account as well, and that may be drainage. Some materials will require extra drainage installed in order to comply with the law. Not only that, but you don’t want a wet driveway with puddles when it pours with rain.

  3.  A DIY Job Is Not Necessarily A Good Idea With some materials, such as brick blocks, you might be tempted to carry out a DIY job and lay them yourself. However, this may not be such a great idea. You might save some money, but then again you might not do a very good job, not to put too fine a point on it. So, it is always best to have a professional firm undertake driveway installation. With other materials such as asphalt or resins, you won’t have the necessary equipment anyway. Another thing to consider when installing driveways in Kent is the pavement. If you are installing a new driveway you will also need a drop kerb installed and that means that not only do you need the requisite permission from the council, but you also need an approved drop kerb contractor to create the drop kerb for you. There are only a few of those companies in Kent, so it is another thing to take into consideration because if the company you choose for the driveway is not approved you will then have to find one that is - just to deal with the kerb aspect. Apart from being a nuisance, it could also involve greater costs, whereas if you choose an approved company, they can handle both your driveway and the drop kerb. Well worth thinking about.
