  1. The Pandemic Proof Playbook The Pandemic Proof Playbook Joel Evan, a Host of The Hacked Life Podcast, Health Coach, Neufit electric stim practitioner, brings some light on how to thrive in times of uncertainty. The recent years were flooded with intense and all-encompassing times of uncertainty. The global pandemic impacted our lifestyles, concepts, and both physical and emotional wellness, not in a good way. Uncertainty is the primary cause of enormous anxiety and stress. To the human mind, uncertainty equals danger. It makes people see threats everywhere they look, and at the same time, it forces them to react emotionally in response to those threats. During these times, you have a concept in your head that says that the pandemic is dangerous. You shouldn’t go outside in order not to get the virus. You shouldn’t socialize, and all you need is to lock yourself at home. Where did we get that concept? Who's dictating our beliefs and our ideas? “Let’s imagine your kid climbing a tree, and your predicted response is ‘no, don't climb that tree, you’re gonna get hurt.’ You put the concept that the kid isn’t good enough or nor athletic enough. There’s something wrong with the kid so that they will fall off the tree. Here you’re saying that your kid isn’t capable enough to climb. “Or worse, you can say something like ‘don't go outside, you're gonna catch a cold.’ It means that you're telling your kid that their immune system's not strong enough not to catch a cold. “Ask yourself whose beliefs were being put on you. Whose beliefs were being impressed upon you throughout this time?” Joes says.

  2. There was an experiment made on jumping fleas showing the concept of beliefs and acts. The jumping fleas were placed in a glass jar with a lid, the fleas were placed inside the jar, and the lid was then sealed. They are left undisturbed for three days. Then, when the jar is opened, the fleas will not jump out. In fact, the fleas will never jump higher than the levels set by the lid. That act their behavior is now set for the rest of their lives. When these fleas reproduce their offspring, they will automatically follow their example. “The fascinating thing about this is that, believe it or not, humans are very much like fleas. You are capable of so much more. You are capable of jumping so much higher than the jar of life, but with the help of others, you reach this psychological ceiling that you cannot overcome.” Joel says. The only thing stopping you is the way you think. The perfect example is Cliff Young Shuffle. He was a 61-year-old Australian farmer when he destroyed ten well-trained professional athletes in a 544-mile race. It took him 10 hours. Noone believed he could make that ultra-marathon which should take six days of running. The athletes were preparing for this event for some time, and they had a crew of supporting doctors, coaches. Meanwhile, Young was all alone. There is a strategy in marathons, you run for 18 hours and sleep for 6 hours. Cliff, as a new person to this sport, did know this strategy. He never slept; he had no idea he was supposed to sleep. He just ran, and so Cliff ends up winning the race. As a matter of fact, Cliff did not even know how to run, and his technique was shuffling. It turned out that this technique is energy-saving, and it is still used today. It was named on his behalf - “Young Shuffle.” “Now imagine if Cliff had let others tell him what he was going to do. Imagine if Cliff let others impress their beliefs, their limitations, their concepts into his brain. ‘You can't run that race,’ ‘You are crazy, you're 61 years old,’ ‘You're never going

  3. to run,’ ‘You're crazy, you don't even know how to run.’ Imagine if Cliff listened to all these people. He never made his own path.” Joel said. Sometimes, we are puppets on the strings of concepts someone made for all of us. To thrive in times of uncertainty, we need to untrack our minds from the concepts. It’s one of the hacks that impacts not only your body but also your mind.
