  1. Home Treatments Bookings About Contact Us Book an appointment Prolotherapy Prolotherapy is a form of injection therapy used to treat certain conditions. We commonly use it here for stubborn plantar fasciitis cases, chronic ligament injuries and joint pain, among other things. As a safe and effective injection treatment, prolotherapy strengthens joints, ligaments, and tendons by making new connective tissue. A local anaesthetic called lignocaine is mixed with glucose to make the solution.  Prolotherapy is mostly used for treating chronic tendon injuries. Overused tendons become painful and sometimes fail to heal due to excess Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF). An ultrasound can reveal swollen or torn tissue, with neovessels surrounding the tendon. There are nerves adjacent to them that are very painful.  How does Prolotherapy work? Pain is treated by injecting glucose solution into the area. This simulates an injury to the body, without causing damage, to have the body restart the healing process. In most cases, a variety of points must be
