  2. 前面發生了甚麼 琉球王國自明朝起為中國的藩屬國 但在1609年，薩摩藩攻陷琉球 使其同為中國和日本控制

  3. 八瑤灣事件 1871年，琉球船隻在上繳年貢後準備返航 卻因遇到颱風，一艘船擱淺在屏東滿州 在上岸後被兩名漢人搶劫 後受原住民保護，但以為原住民對他們不利，於是逃走 原住民卻以為他們是間諜，追捕他們

  4. 日本以原住民殺害日本漁民名義出兵 1874年，日本派兵來台，攻打當時 不被清廷控制的原住民

  5. 同年，清廷派遣沈葆楨來台 於安平興建砲臺，放置西洋巨砲用來防禦 並佈兵於枋寮、東港
