This degree contains experiences with biological and medical sciences through the study of living systems. Many of the biological careers require further education beyond a Bachelor’s degree. Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology or BMLT is a 3-year undergraduate course designed to equip eligible candidates with advanced learning in both routine and sophisticated laboratory diagnostic procedures. Aspiring candidates need to have qualified the Senior Secondary Certificate (class XIIth) Examination in the Science stream, with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent CGPA. The course is divided into 6 semesters .

  2. BMLT course is a new age course that has come into existence with the medical advancements and increase in the number of labs and lab technology all over the world. BMLT course is designed to train students about the importance of laboratory discipline and laboratory techniques that should be followed in labs. There's a huge number of job opportunities for BMLT course graduates, especially in research and pharma sectors. Many companies are spending a huge amount of money for research, which gives a chance for BMLT graduates to get jobs. Career Opportunities in this Course Given the focus on healthcare and the demand for allied health professionals, career opportunities for clinical lab professionals is expected to grow faster than the average of all other occupations. • Radiography Expert • Nuclear Medicine Management • Radiologist Assistant • Nuclear Medicine Technologist

  3. Medical Transcriptionist • Network/System Administrator • Ocularist • Assistant Physician Cardiology • Optometrist • Dietician • Personal Health Facilitator • Drug Safety Associate • Imaging Expert

  4. B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology: Top Institutes

  5. B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology: Admission Process Most colleges or institutes offering the program admit candidates based on skills and performance in a relevant entrance exam, often followed by a round of personal interview, wherein their general aptitude for the program is tested. Admission process basically varies across institutes and colleges. Some institutes provide direct admission based on the applicant performance at the 10+2 level. Asian Institute of Health Sciences, Hindustan College, Oasis Institute of Health Sciences & Research Centre, School of Health Sciences and Sharda University are few such institutes. Following are a few entrance tests that are conducted by some of the B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology colleges in India: • JEE-MAIN: All India Engineering Entrance Examination • AICET: All India Common Entrance Test • JEE-ADVANCED : IIT Joint Entrance Examination • JNU: Engineering Entrance Exam.

  6. B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology: Career Prospects Medical technologists are an essential part of the medical job. These experts get engaged with handy and specialized work to help correct diagnosis and viable working of Biochemical Laboratories. The job opportunities in this field depends on the basis of academic and technical skills of the technologist or technician. Initially candidates join any laboratory as a certified medical laboratory technician. Nowadays with the development in the private sector there are numerous private hospitals, blood banks, nursing homes, pathology laboratories etc. the interest and demand for laboratory technicians is on the up-swing. With sufficient experience and knowledge, Medical Laboratory Technologists can advance to supervisory or management profiles in hospitals and laboratories.
