Construction Aggregates Classification and Uses

Aggregates in general are bonded together to form concrete. Often naturally occurring such as sand, crushed rock and gravels are used in most construction sites. Processed or artificial processed aggregate such as broken bricks or crushed air-cooled blast furnace slag are also preferred according to the requirement.

  1. Construction Aggregates Classification and Uses Aggregates in general are bonded together to form concrete. Often naturally occurring such as sand, crushed rock and gravels are used in most construction sites. Processed or artificial processed aggregate such as broken bricks or crushed air-cooled blast furnace slag are also preferred according to the requirement. On the other hand, light weight aggregates, which are a by-product of industries and are processed from natural sources or material having voids forming light weight and low-density construction aggregates Queensland using material like pumice, furnace, clinkers, coke breeze, saw dust, foamed slag, expanded clays, and shales, expanded slates, etc., Classification of Aggregates for Concrete: 1. Fine Aggregates: They pass through 4.75 mm I.S. sieve and are retained on 150 micron sieve.

  2. 2. Coarse Aggregates: They are able to pass through 63 mm I.S. sieve and retained on 4.75 mm sieve. 3. Mixed Aggregates: They come from the pit or riverbed and hence sometimes are used for unimportant work without separating in to different sizes. Tip: You can get in touch with Construction Aggregates Companies to make the purchase of construction aggregates for your facility. Uses of Aggregates: 1. Crushed naturally occurring stone can be used for producing good concrete or R.C.C for construction purposes. 2. Broken bricks are best used for water-proof construction. 3. Light weight aggregates are used to produce low-density construction concrete. Contact Us: - (07) 3260 2100 administration@byrneresources.com.au
