  1. Anti-Inflammatory Drugs are Proving to be Effective in the Treatment of Headache, Muscle Pain, and Dental Pain Anti-inflammatory drugs are used to reduce inflammation, which often helps to reduce pain including headache, muscle pain, dental pain, etc. There are two classes of anti-inflammatory drugs namely non-steroidal and corticosteroids. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are available in several forms. They can be taken as tablets, lozenges, powders, sprays, and injections. While all of them reduce pain, some only relieve pain, some contain steroids that can cause side effects including gastrointestinal problems and bleeding. For this reason, many doctors prefer to prescribe NSAIDs for patients with moderate to severe arthritis symptoms. Corticosteroids are generally reserved for use in advanced stages of inflammatory arthritis when other anti-inflammatory treatments have failed.

  2. Taking these medications for a long period of time can lead to stomach ulcers. This is one of the rare side effects that can occur with the long- term use of NSAIDs. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory drug that affects the lining of blood vessels and can reduce pain and swelling in the stomach. However, aspirin may also cause an increase in gastric acid, which can decrease the effectiveness of NSAIDs and make the disorder worse. Recently, in February 2021, Strides Pharma Science received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its anti-inflammatory drug Ibuprofen oral suspension USP, 100 mg/5 mL (OTC) indicated for relieving pain from various conditions such as headache, dental pain, and muscle aches.
