  1. What are various meningitis treatments and vaccines available in market today? What is Meningitis? Meningitis is an inflammation of the tissues surrounding the brain. This inflammation affects the protective membrane that surrounds the brain and causes many symptoms like meningitis, which includes high fever, headache, stiff neck, nausea, and vomiting. It is also known as "vigorous bacterial encephalitis" which is caused by the high percentage of meningitis causing bacteria in the brain. What are the different Meningitis Treatment? Treatments for meningitis are generally similar from one to the other. Anti-inflammatory medicines are used for pain and swelling. Corticosteroids, used for viral infection and control, are also used. In rare cases, steroids and other strong anti-biotic are also used. Viral meningitis treatments such as the use of amoxicillin or other antibacterial drugs are often recommended. Meningitis causes fever, cough, and headache. This makes the symptoms of meningitis hard to handle. The most commonly known and successful meningitis treatment is the use of an anti-inflammatory agent such as Benadryl or Effexor. These drugs temporarily relieve pain and swelling caused by an inflammation of the protective membrane that lines the brain and spinal cord. If the meningitis is caused by a viral infection, doctors may wish to give their patients an anti-viral medication in addition to the anti- inflammatory treatment. These treatments, however, should only be used as a last resort due to the side effects that may occur when using. Meningococcal meningitis vaccine (MMR) is one of the common vaccines used for the prevention of meningitis Are there any alternative meningitis treatments available? Yes, there are. Alternative medical treatments are also recommended for those who are not satisfied with the standard meningitis treatments. Those who opt for homeopathy treatment for meningitis say that natural medications can give better results in less time, with fewer side effects.
