Every child should have access to regular education that helps them grow and develop a wholesome personality to succeed in life. After all, a child’s early years are a very impactful time in their growth, thus this period needs to be healthy and educational. By learning from outside sources, a child acquires knowledge, picks up new life skills, and develops their moral principles. A child needs to attend school in order to develop fully, which includes cognitive ability, critical thinking, emotional capabilities, and problem-solving skills. Without any obstacles related to socioeconomic status, gender discrimination, or poverty, every child must be able to complete their education. Unfortunately, the situation in India is very different. DISE 2016–17 and RGI Census Population Projection 2016 estimate that there were 46.24 million children who did not attend school in 2016. This is why children from marginalized communities need to attend school to help them extend their horizons, advance in life, and eventually find a secure job with decent compensation. Education is the route to help break the cycle of daily wages and an unpredictable lifestyle. Several factors prevent children from receiving an education. This includes prioritizing boys instead of girls due to gender disparity. Financial limitations are another reason why children are denied an education. Instead, they are forced to participate in child labor or girls are expected to help out around the house or get married at an early age. Many poverty-stricken families do not prioritize education and see it as a waste of time and money. In India, the issue of children’s education is still not addressed urgently or with effective implementation. It is high time this changed for the better. Children can learn to manage their lives in a variety of ways with the aid of education. Regular education can help protect children from harmful practices like child labor, child marriage, and varied other generational issues of extreme poverty.
