  1. Asphalt parking lot precaution and care.

  2. 1. Give time to new asphalt to cure You can drive on asphalt once it is dry – 24 hours after pouring is usually navigated, but it is important, new pavement needs some more time to reach its potential strength also requires time to develop a defense mechanism against damage until it is complete. Yet parking lot will be operative throughout the curing process, some precautions should be taken to minimize rough use. monitor/restrict the heavy vehicles drive on the surface be aware of the area parks and the time vehicles utilized by the vehicle. Sensible driving parameters should be mentioned for drivers peeling out is really not healthy for the new surface.

  3. 2. OIL AND FUEL SPILLS must be cleaned IMMEDIATELY There are only a few things and some rough attitudes can only damage the new asphalt, but an oil or fuel spill will do incurable damage. Oil and gasoline react with the chemicals that combine asphalt together. The worst part is that it happens with rapid speed, and damages the whole structure of new asphalt.   This will lead to a daunting task for the pavement down the line and you’ll need to do time take expensive repair work.

  4. 3. DO SLOW DOWN! Speed gives a condition where asphalt gets maximum harm, especially newly-laid asphalt, what we need is to avoid scuffing the asphalt. Belittle wise and try to slow the pace, you’ll prevent any happening like damage. Asphalt for public use must have speed measurement marks in the area to avoid unnecessary damage.

  5. 4. DO SEALCOAT REGULARLY Once your asphalt is fully cured, we need to apply a decent quality seal coat, Sealcoating prevents the surface from moisture getting into the asphalt, fading and extending its operational life.

  6. 5. DO NOT LET PLANTS CREEP UP Plants creep up along the edges of your asphalt paving. You need to take care of that, apply some chemicals around those edges, that do not allow or nourish the plants to creep up. The bumps and cracks usually occur with the development of weeds around the pavement area, forming into larger cracks and developing holes.

  7. Do not ignore small cracks or holes which can be enlarged as time progresses, have a regular inspection to identify the new cracks or small holes which can be sealed with good quality sealant, and patching of holes should be done immediately. Cold climate like Burlington or Hamilton in Canada needs to have regular inspection, a professional parking lot sealcoating contractors must get involved with work.
