  1. AMAZON FACES UNPAID WAGES CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT Carl Ceder

  2. Amazon is currently facing a major employment class action lawsuit, which was filed by Plaintiff Kelly Pavuk (“Pavuk”) in the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. This lawsuit alleges that Amazon has failed to compensate her adequately for the time working at their Amazon facility in Pennsylvania. Pavuk also makes this claim on behalf of herself and other people similarly situated. • The lawsuit claims that the defendants have failed to comply with the requirements set forth in the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act (“PMWA”), which is violating the law by not compensating all warehouse workers during their end-of-shift screening process that takes between 10 and 20 minutes. • The lawsuit also claims the defendants have violated the PMWA in a failure to compensate all the Warehouse Workers for passing through this same screening process during their meal breaks or for walking to that screening area. The lawsuit also claims the defendants also automatically deduct 30 minutes from Warehouse Workers time sheet each shift for an unpaid meal break, and that they require Warehouse Workers to remain at their work locations within the Facility until the start of the 30-minute meal break.
