  2. Introduction NID was founded by Gira Sarabhai in 1961 and stands for National Institute Of Design.   3. NID EXAM Eligibility Criteria AGE: Indian Nationals (Both General and General EWS) –The condition being they should be born on or after 1st July 2001. Only then the applicants would be eligible for admission. Reserved Category Indian Nationals (Scheduled Castes(SCs), Scheduled Tribes(STs), Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer(NCL) born on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible for sitting for the exam. PwD Indians who are born on or after 1st July 1996 are eligible to apply for admission. Foreign Nationals belonging to the Overseas Category can apply for the admission if they are born on or after 1st July 2001. Educational Qualification: In addition to the age criterion stated above, the applicants need to fulfil at least one of the following qualifications to be eligible for admission to NIDs. Bachelor degree in any specialization with a minimum 4 – year duration, after 12th or equivalent to 12th- This degree must be recognized by law in India. Moreover, applicants need to have passed the examination during the time of verification of documents scheduled for the year.

NID EXAM Eligibility Criteria A Diploma degree of minimum 4-year duration in any of the mentioned specializations like Design/ Fine Arts/Applied Arts/Architecture after 12th standard or equivalent 12th standard from any university that has been recognized by law in India. Moreover candidates need to pass the Diploma examination at the time of document verification scheduled for the year. A Bachelor degree of minimum 3 year duration in any specialization after 12th standard or and equivalent to 12th standard Moreover, for the year 2021 the candidates must have passed the 3 year Bachelor degree exam by 2020. For the applicants who were in the final year of the Academic session 2019-2020, and their examinations haven’t been conducted due to the pandemic can also apply.   5. NID Exam Syllabus NID Exam Pattern NID DAT 2022, National institute of Design -Design Aptitude test is an aptitude test for undergraduates. The NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) consists of three phases: a written exam (Prelims and Mains), a studio test, and a personal interview. To gain admission to NIDs, candidates must pass each phase of the exam. Aspirants must familiarize themselves with the NID DAT 2022 exam pattern in order to properly prepare for the exam.
