  6. HISTORY Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University (UHSR), as a matter of fact, was established on 2nd June 2008. Nevertheless, the state government of Haryana gave UHSR the status of a state university on 18th August 2008 via Act 26. As the name suggests, UHSR was also named the first Prime Minister of Haryana, Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma. To emphasize, he was popularly known as Pandit Ji and was the governor of Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.
