  5. HISTORY Coming into existence in the year 1981, The University has a sole intention to fulfill thr requirements of the higher education. In addition, the name of the institution is after Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. Moreover, it offers 23 Courses in Science, 12 Courses in Arts and Commerce. Also, Vocational courses for career upskilling are available. It has total area of 182.75 acres in which the Main Campus is103.79 acres. In additon, There are around 30 constituent college of this university. This university act as an umbrella for 30 college which have affiliation with the University. The university's motto is Education, Knowledge, Progress that reflects the mission of the institution.
