3. National Institute of Technology,NIT Hamirpur National Institute of Technology, NIT Hamirpur, was established in the year 2009. It is one of the most established universities in the country. It is situated at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. 5. HISTORY The institution came into being in Hamirpur on August 7, 1986. Subsequently, It was a joint enterprise between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India. It was founded in Hamirpur. The classes that began at the State Polytechnic College in Hamirpur as REC Hamirpur did not initially have a campus. In 1987, when few structures were completed, classes and administration relocated to the new site. The Institute does not spare effort to promote the spirit of national integration between students, near engagement with industry and science.
