  3. NITRaipur The National Institute of Technology, Raipur, which commenced with two branches in 1956, has shown to be "Avant-grade" in the world of technology and science over the past decades. Formerly known as Government Engineering College Raipur, NIT Raipur is one of the best engineering colleges to studyin. Over the last five decades, the Institute is contributing to the growth of the nation in scientific, technological, and financial terms. Hence, the Institute gets its acknowledgment for its function in the development of useful developments in the field ofengineering. The college currently provides 12 undergraduate and six postgraduate courses in applied geology, namely MCA and MTech. Additionally, it offers Ph.D. facilities and also incurs research and development activities. Besides, it conducts consulting, advisory, and other expansion resources, which involves continuous technical training. Therefore, the Institute holds 40th and 67th rank for Engineering by India Today and NIRF, respectively, in the year2020. Raipur is well linked by daily flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, and Bhuvneshwar, and also is on the main Howrah-Mumbai railway line. The Institute is 5 km from the train station and 14 km from theairport. Chhattisgarh is a mineral-rich state with seemingly limitless natural deposits, for example, copper, iron ore, limestones, dolomite, etc. The nearby industrial area allows it to engage with several engineering disciplines. Therefore, the university is proudly set up in the heart of the natural resourceand commercial region of Chhattisgarhstate.

  5. HISTORY The first President of India, Rajendra Prasadlaid the foundation stone of the college building on 14 September 1956. Construction was completed in 1962 and the college was inaugurated on 14 March 1963 bythe first Prime Minister of India, JawaharlalNehru. Until as late as 1956, there were only three technical institutes in the country devoted to miningand metallurgical engineering. In view of this fact and also with the aim of harnessing the ample mineral resources in the region, the institute was set up on 1 May 1956 as Government College of Mining and Metallurgy. The first session of the college commenced on 1 July 1956 with the admission of 15 students each in mining and metallurgicalengineering. In 1958–59 with the commencement of additional courses in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, the college came to be known as Government College of Engineering and Technology. Later graduate courses in chemical engineering (1965), architecture (1984), electronics (1985), information technology, computer science and technology (2000), biotechnology and biomedical engineering (2003) werestarted.

Sports andGym The sports center and GYM are the primary bodies under sports as it hosts most of NIT Raipur's co-curricular events, varying from athletics to socio-cultural events. The university offers MTech courses in four specializations such as Applied Geology, Chemical Engineering,etc. However, the final selection of students is dependent on their performance in theentrance test such as GATE, and NIMCET,respectively. PhDCourses The university offers doctoral programs in four specifications, for example,Biotechnology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. An applicant must clear the Graduation as well as post-graduation in relevant subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate. However, the final selection of students is dependent upon past academic achievements, a written test followed by aninterview.
