3. National Institute of Technology, NIT Srinagar Established in 1960, the National Institute of Technology Srinagar, Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir, and is one of India's 32 NIT. NIT Srinagar is the only technical institute of national significance in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as one of India's most prestigious technical institutes. It was one of the first eight Regional Engineering Collegesestablished by Government of India during the first Five YearPlan.
