  2. Introduction • The Indian Administrative Service is one of the prestigious services. However, it is the hardest competitive exam nationwide. It is also seen that lakhs of applicants across the nation apply for this exam every year. • Moreover, there are a variety of posts which an IAS officer can get. These can be roles like Cabinet Secretary, Chief Secretary, Collector, head of public sector units, etc. • It is also witnessed that the union government, the state government, and the public sector undertakings hire these officers. Furthermore, the primary role of these officers is to frame the policies and execute them. • Candidates who opt for the UPSC IAS exam have to qualify for its three steps. • The first is the preliminary examination (IAS prelims) • The second is the main’s examination (IAS mains) • The last one is the UPSC personality test or personal interview

The Board has provided the eligibility criteria to appear in the Indian Police Service 2021 examination. • Nationality • They should be either: • An Indian citizen or • A native of Bhutan or • A native of Nepal or • A Tibetan refugee. However, the refugee should’ve arrived before 1st January 1962. Moreover, they should arrive to become permanent residents or • They might be a person of Indian origin. For example, they should come here from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam. Moreover, they may belong to Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, etc. • Qualification • This section is about the educational qualifications of IAS candidates. The minimum qualification for candidates applying for this is graduation. Apart from that, a degree in any discipline from a recognized university that is equivalent to graduation is also considered. However, there is no barrier of minimum passing percentage for candidates to appear in exams. The candidates who are in their final year of graduation with results awaited are also eligible. They can submit their documents later during the Detailed Application Form (DAF) process. Similarly, the MBBS candidates or any other Medical background candidates are also eligible. • Age • The UPSC requires the candidate to be between the ages of 21 years to 32 years.   4. UPSC IAS Syllabus UPSC IAS Pattern • The IAS candidate should study the exam pattern thoroughly. Because each section of the examination consists of different types of questions. And each section carries a separate set of marks. We have provided the following information about the exam pattern. Thus, this will make it easy for the candidates to understand the pattern. • There will only be two papers in the IAS Prelims. • The questions will be objective type questions in the form of multiple-choice questions • The two Prelims papers will consist of 200 marks each. Moreover, each question will carry around 2marks • The Board will provide candidates with 120 minutes or 2 hours to complete each paper. • However, there is negative marking in Indian Public Service exams • The level of difficulty in the questions is given at the 10+2 level • The candidate can attempt the exam in either English or Hindi language • The candidate has to score a minimum of 33% to qualify for the Indian Police Service Prelims • The qualifying papers of the IAS Mains are worth 300 marks each. However, the other papers are of 250 marks each. • The duration of the IAS Mains papers is 3 hours each. • IAS Exam Syllabus for prelims: • For the prelims exam, candidates have to prepare for two subjects. These are General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II. The detailed syllabus is as follows: • General Studies Paper-I: It includes topics like international and national importance. It also includes Indian history, the history of Indian national movements, and world geography. Topics like economic and social development are also its part. Lastly, there are  general issues on topics like environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate Change • General Studies Paper-II: It includes topics like comprehension. Candidates also need to prepare interpersonal and communication skills for this paper. Apart from this Logical reasoning and analytical ability are also included. Decision-making and problem, general mental ability solving, and numeracy are the other topics in the syllabus of this paper.

  5. UPSC IAS Admit Card • Admit cards for the IAS exam are usually uploaded three weeks before the preliminary exams. Moreover, the IAS prelims exam has been scheduled for October 10, 2021; the admit cards will be available on their website by the third week of September 2021. • However, admit card works as identity proof for a candidate to be allowed in the exam centers.   6. UPSC IAS Result Candidates who have appeared in the IAS exam have to check their results for three stages. Though, this is done to make sure if they have qualified for the UPSC IAS exam. With this intention, here are a few exam and result details.

  7. How to Check the UPSC IAS Result? • The IAS result is available on their official website once announced. While the candidates can follow the steps given above to check their results. • Firstly, visit https://www.upsc.gov.in/ • Then, the search result • Click on the available link of result • Download pdf • Lastly, look for your name or roll number in the pdf file. • Note: Your name or roll number will appear in the pdf only if you have qualified for your exam

How ToApply? • The first step includes the prospective candidates opening the official website of the Union Public Service Commission or upsc.gov.in. • Next, the candidates will have to register themselves. Additionally, they should create a profile on the site by providing details of the candidate • Now, the candidate generates the username and password. Then, the site will ask them to log in to their accounts • On clicking the link, the site displays the application form page. • Here, the candidate will be asked to provide all the details. For instance, it includes the name of the candidate, address details, education, and contact number • Next, the candidate will have to scan the documents that have been asked for. Then, they will have to upload them to the website • The site will guide the candidate to a new page with the payment options • The candidate after selecting the payment method and completing the process will need to click on the submit button • Once all the steps have been completed, the applicant will need to download the page. Additionally, they should print it and keep the document for future use. • Next, the candidates will learn of the completion of the entire procedure through the mail and phone number. • However, keep in mind that this application is only for the Prelims. Thus, successful candidates will have to fill up the Mains form later. Moreover, they should specify that they prefer to join the IPS on the form.
