ARCTIC TERN • THE ARCTIC TERN IS A SEA BIRD . • THE SPECIES IS STRONGLY MIGRATORY, SEEMING TWO SUMMERS EACH YEAR AS IT MIGRATORY FROM THE NORTH ALONG A WINDING ROUTE TO THE OCEANS AROUND ANTARCTICA AND BACK, A ROUND TRIP OF ABOUT 70,900 KM EACH YEAR.
BAR-TAILED GODWIT • The Bar-tailed Godwit is a large wader, from the Arctic coasts and Tundra and winters on coasts in temperate and tropical regions. • It makes the longest known non-stop flight of any bird without pausing to feed by any animal, 11,680 km along a route from Alaska to New Zealand.
