  1. Blog2: Chipwizard.ca Inside an Auto Glass Repair and Replacement Job A damaged auto glass can be either repaired or replaced, depending upon the extent of the breakage. For cracks any larger than the size of a quarter, auto shops recommend a replacement while a repair is sufficient for anything small and less significant. So, here is a bird’s eye view of both the jobs done at auto glass repair shops in Winnipeg. A Windscreen Repair Job Windscreens are repaired with one simple logic and that is erasing the marks of the damage. Now how they do it is pretty simple. If a glass crack is magnified upon, it reveals thin hair-like cracks on the site. These cracks are formed by opening up of the glass construct. Repairers fill in the open cracks with composite materials that blend with the translucence of the glass. As a result the cracks become less visible from the outside and mended well inside. A Windscreen Replacement Job Windscreen replacement may not involve so much precision, but it needs assiduous working. The complex part of the job is taking out the damaged shield all at once. However, that does not preclude the shedding and sticking of glass particles from the older shields. A brush is used to fully dust off all specks of dust from the contour of the glass. Those that stick with the gummy holding of the glass are vacuumed off. A new glass is fitted in its place and painted with industry-standard glue to secure it fully.
